The ‘Admin | SNMP’ page (Figure 5-4) sets and returns administration information for the

CDM-840 Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) feature. For further information about

SNMP, see Section 5.3 SNMP INTERFACE.

SNMP Configuration

Note that the SNMP Trap Destination IP Address feature is a FUTURE offering at this time

and is therefore non-functional in this section. Otherwise, use the provided text boxes to assign

the desired SNMP configuration string. Note the following:

• An SNMP Read Community String can be assigned. This string can be any combination of

characters and a length of 4 - 15 characters. The factory default for this parameter is public.

• An SNMP Write Community String. This string can be any combination of characters and

a length of 4 - 15 characters. The factory default for this parameter is private.

For each string created, click [Submit] as needed to save the change(s).
