5–2 Operator Functions

• Access list

: For each user, an access list is maintained. The list contains the

user’s privileges with respect to the commands and functions available on

the operator workstation.

♦ A user can have a View privilege for read-only access, Update

privilege for read and modify, and All for read, write, add, and delete.

♦ Not all functions can have all the access privileges.

♦ Example, a report-generating function can only have a view

privilege.
